Using Catia V5 to generate 3D models and 2D drawings.  Working on projects to design tooling for press formed panels, mould tools and prototype vehicle engineering.  Supporting CAD Manager with the day to day CAD activities within Engineering. 

Key Tasks - Roles & Responsibilities 

• Responsible for the on time & accurate delivery of CAD tooling models to meet Tooling Programmes
• Ability to interpret customer requirements & communicate with the team
• Ability to perform tasks within team, provide guidance, manage hours & provide feedback
• Work in adherence to procedures to achieve best in class service and maintain quality
• Develop and maintain outstanding internal and external customer satisfaction
• Processing CAD Data
• Produce tooling designs that are suitable for cost effective part manufacture
• Creation of different CAD formats as required:
       o 2D drawing
       o 3D illustrations/exploded views/isometric views
• Organise CAD data and generate BOM,s for Fixture and tooling assemblies
• Producing hard copy drawings for supporting manufacturing
• Issuing CAD data in various formats to suppliers and internal/external customers
• Liaison and working closely with onsite and offsite departments, to deliver parts for on time delivery
• Resolve tooling issues utilising structured problem solving techniques
• Contributing to process improvement & implementing cost saving best practice
• Production of technical presentation material
• Liaise/attend meetings with all departments, customers and suppliers as required
• Working with the CAD Manager to help support, develop & mentor team members
• Day to day point of contact for tooling enquiries, with a direct interface to Project Management
• Supporting CAD Manager as required
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required

Candidate Technical & Educational Requirements 

• HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering subject
• Microsoft i.e. Excel, Outlook & Word
• Catia V5
• AutoForm 
• Microsoft project experience (Desirable)

Candidate Competencies 

 Essential level of competency
• Press tool and die design capability
• Experience of press tooling & stamping feasibility within an automotive environment
• Knowledge or experience working with AutoForm or similar stamping software
• BIW assembly fixture design experience
• Ability to work to instruction and integrate into a successful engineering team
• Good written & verbal communication skills
• Problem solving
• Commercial awareness

Desirable level of competency
• Previous mentoring/training experience
• Ability to delegate work & set targets
• BIW experience in a low volume environment
